The State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) conducts the Assam Direct Recruitment Exam (ADRE) every year for the recruitment of Group III and Group IV posts in the Government of Assam, including some technical and Non- Technical Posts.

ADRE Exam Pattern 2025

The Assam Direct Recruitment Exam conducted for the Grade III jobs is a written, objective type exam. 

The Grade III exam is further conducted in categories for the recruitment of different posts each with the requirement of different level of minimum qualification. Each category is discussed here in under for a preliminary understanding of the pattern of ADRE. 

• Category 1 – Bachelor Degree Level

Minimum Qualification – 

• Bachelor’s Degree 

           OR

• Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration from a recognized Institute

            OR

• Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration and Stenography Certificate from recognized Institute 

           OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science with Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration from a recognized Institute

Key Points

• Age bar: 18-40 {as on the last date of submission of application}
• Duration – 180 minutes {3hours}
• Maximum Marks – 175
• No. of questions – 150
• Type of Questions – Objective / MCQs

Syllabus 

The MCQ questions are asked from the mentioned subjects in the mentioned quantity in more or less the same pattern. 

• Category II – HSSLC Level

Minimum Qualification – 

• HSSLC or Equivalent Examination passed 

OR 

• HSSLC (Science) Examination passed

Key Points

• Age bar: 18-40 {as on the last date of submission of application}
• Duration – 180 minutes {3hours}
• Maximum Marks – 150 
• No. of questions – 150
• Type of Questions – Objective / MCQs

Syllabus

The MCQ questions are asked from the mentioned subjects in the mentioned quantity in more or less the same pattern

• Category III – HSLC Level

Minimum Qualification – 

• HSLC or 
• equivalent Examination passed with valid LMV Driving License. 

Key Points

• Age bar: 18-40 {as on the last date of submission of application}
• Duration – 180 minutes {3hours}
• Maximum Marks – 150 
• No. of questions – 150
• Type of Questions – Objective / MCQs

Syllabus

The MCQ questions are asked from the mentioned subjects in the mentioned quantity in more or less the same pattern. 

It should also be noted that there will be Penalty Negative marking. Each incorrect response will result in a deduction of one-fourth marks given for that particular question. For instance, incorrect answers to questions worth one mark will receive a negative marking of 0.25, while incorrect answers to questions worth two marks would receive a negative marking of 0.50.

The Grade IV exam is conducted to recruit up till maximum qualification of HSSLC (class 12) or equivalent examination passed. The minimum qualification for the ADRE exam Grade IV posts is:

• HSLC (Class Ten) or equivalent examination passed 

OR

• HSLC (Class Ten) or equivalent examination passed along with ITI pass certificate in the trade of wireman/electrician/ fitter/welder/machinist/Electronics mechanic from Govt of Assam approved Institute. 

OR

• Read up to Class-VIlI

It should be noted that there shall be separate written examinations for the category of people qualified upto class VIII and for category of people HSLC (class10) qualified or equivalent examination passed along-with ITI pass certificate in the trade of Wireman/Electrician/Fitter/Welder/Machinist/Electronics mechanic from Govt. of Assam approved institute. 

Key Points

• Duration – 150 minutes ( 2hours 30minutes)
• Maximum Marks – 135
• No. of questions – 135

It should also be noted that there will be penalty negative marking, where Negative marks of 0.25 will be awarded for each incorrect answer.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the Grade IV exam shall only be upto the elementary level of schooling of SCERT for Read upto Class VIII category and for HSLC (Class Ten) passed or equivalent examination passed category including HSLC (Class Ten) passed or equivalent examination passed along-with ITI pass certificate in the trade of Wireman/Electrician/Fitter/ Welder/Machinist/Electronics mechanic from Govt. of Assam approved institute the syllabus shall be upto the High School Level Certificate Examination of Board of Secondary Education, Assam. 

The subjects for Grade IV exam may include-

• English 
• Social Studies
• Mathematics
• General Knowledge
• Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning

The candidate should also note-

• While applying for the exam he should keep his passport size photo and copy of scanned signature handy. 

• That there is no kind of application fees whatsoever in Grade III or Grade IV examination. 

• The candidate can apply for the exams once the notification for 2025 is out via www.sebanonline.org or https://assam.gov.in/ 

• After the clearance of the written examination for the requisite post the candidate will have to appear for the interview/ skill set as and when informed.
